We are looking to appoint two or three colleagues to join our outstanding team of Youth Workers and Play Workers here at the Shewsy.

1. Play Worker

12 hours per week: Monday – Thursday 2:30pm – 5:30pm
Working in Junior Club as part of the team overseeing the after school activities for up to 60 children aged 5 – 11 years
Rate of pay in the region of £11.78 per hour depending upon qualifications and experience

2. Youth Worker

12 hours per week: Monday – Thursday 7pm – 10pm
Rate of pay in the region of £11.78 per hour depending upon qualifications and experience
Working in Senior Club as part of the team working closely with young people aged 12 – 17 years

It is possible that, for suitably qualified and experienced persons, the roles can be combined.

Closing date for applications: Monday 8th January 2024 at 5pm.

Interviews and in-Club trial sessions for shortlisted candidates will be scheduled for the week beginning Tuesday 16th January 2024.

Shewsy wins Premier League Kicks Social Action Challenge Competition

A Shewsy team of Senior Club members took part in a competition at the Central Youth Club in Kensington hosted by LFC Foundation to make a bid for support for a social enterprise project at the Club.

The team decided to pitch the idea of a Youth Council at which Senior Club members of different ages would discuss how to ensure the young person’s voice is heard in discussions about current issues such as knife crime, fundraising for residential trips and making a positive contribution to our Youth Club and the local West Everton Community.

After listening to the pitches from a number of Youth Clubs, the LFC foundation judging panel announced the Shewsy as the Winners – and as a result LFC Foundation will now support the establishment and operation of the Shewsy’s new Youth Council.
