Governance

The Shewsy is governed by a formal constitution that establishes its purpose, governance arrangements, and decision-making processes. Under this constitution, the Head of School serves as the Chair of the Board, reflecting the historic and ongoing partnership between the club and the school. The Board itself is made up of three equal parts: one-third appointed by the Church, one-third by the School, and one-third by the local Liverpool community.

This structure is designed to ensure balanced representation, shared ownership, and accountability across the key institutions connected to the Shewsy.

The Board currently has 13 members, who collectively hold responsibility for strategic direction, financial oversight, safeguarding, and ensuring the club fulfils its charitable objectives.

The constitution also outlines terms of office, procedures for appointing trustees, rules on meetings and quoracy, and the powers delegated to the Chair and any subcommittees.
