Meena
Hi, my name is Meenakshi Verma, and I’m from India. My son and I have been part of the Shrewsbury for about the last year and a half. We’re connected to the Shewsy, and my son, Sushant, is eight years old and goes to Faith Primary School.
I send Sushant here because he absolutely loves it, and I’m very happy for him to be here too. As a single parent, there are three really important things I look for when choosing an after-school club for my child: safety, convenience, and quality.
First of all, safety. I feel very happy and relaxed knowing that Sushant is at the Shewsy. The staff are amazing, and whenever he comes here, he’s always happy. That’s the most important thing for me. Secondly, convenience. It needs to fit around my working schedule. Being a single parent, it can be difficult to juggle work and parenting, so having something nearby and easy to get to makes a big difference. I also wanted him to do something constructive after school rather than coming home and spending time on screens.
The third thing is quality, and that’s important in two ways. One is the food. After a long school day, Sushant gets fresh, healthy food, including vegetarian options, which is really important to us. He really enjoys the food that’s served at the Shewsy, and for me, it’s very reassuring to know that he’s eating well after such a long day.
The other part of quality is physical activity. This is really important for me, especially to reduce screen time after school. At the Shewsy, the children take part in physical activities that help them burn off energy and also develop their physical and social skills. That’s one of the main reasons I love sending him here.
The people here are amazing. The staff are very friendly, and we’ve made so many lovely memories at the Shewsy over the last year and a half. We’ll definitely continue to be part of it.
If I had to describe the Shewsy in three words, from Sushant’s point of view, I would say it’s safe, friendly, and a place for quality time.
