The Shewsy’s February play scheme brought a vibrant mix of culture, creativity and activity to Everton as children spent the week exploring Chinese New Year through play. Children took part in art sessions where they drew Chinese symbols for love, peace and luck, created zodiac‑themed artwork, and made lucky red envelopes and colourful lanterns. A highlight was working together to build large Chinese dragons from recycled materials, sparking imagination and teamwork.
The sports hall offered plenty of space for energetic group games and multisports, giving children the chance to burn off energy and build confidence in a supportive environment. Calm corners and creative tables were available throughout the day, with colouring, puzzles and quiet activities for those who wanted a break from the action.
Karaoke sessions added lots of fun, with children encouraged to join in singing and dancing as a relaxed end to each day.
The play scheme aimed to encourage curiosity, teamwork and confidence while introducing children to new cultural traditions, and the children embraced every moment.
