John Hunter Jones

Volunteer

John joined the Shewsy as a volunteer in 2025 and is supporting its activities whilst being based in the office.

He recently retired as a lecturer at Liverpool University and is using his retirement to contribute to community based organisations. Coincidentally, in the early 1980s, he volunteered at the Victoria Settlement which was based on Netherfield Road in Everton.

A passion of his is long distance walking, he has walked, with his wife, the Camino de Santiago in Spain and is walking the Wales Coastal walk.

The Shewsy is a special place and it has been a pleasure to contribute to its work. I have been made to feel very welcome
